1、 Production
Coarse steel is the raw material for casting steel plates, pipes, bars, wires, castings, and other steel products, and its production can reflect the expected production of steel.
The production of crude steel showed a significant increase in 2018 (mainly due to the release of crude steel production capacity in Hebei), and in the following years, the production remained stable and slightly increased.
2、 Seasonal production of rebar
The production of rebar in our country has a certain seasonality, and the annual Spring Festival period is the low value of rebar production in a year.
The production of rebar by major steel mills in China has shown some growth in recent years, with annual production exceeding 18 million tons in 2019 and beyond, an increase of about 20% compared to 2016 and 2017. This is also due to the significant growth that occurred after the self supply side structural reform, mainly due to the significant elimination of outdated production capacity of rebar from 2016 to 2017.
Although affected by the epidemic in 2020, the production of rebar by major steel mills in China was 181.6943 million tons, a decrease of only 60000 tons from the previous year’s 181.7543 million tons.
3、 Origin of threaded steel
The main production areas of rebar are concentrated in North China and Northeast China, accounting for more than 50% of the total rebar production.
4、 Consumption
The consumption of rebar is closely related to daily life and is mainly used in the construction of civil engineering projects such as houses, bridges, and roads. From infrastructure projects such as highways, railways, bridges, culverts, tunnels, flood control, dams, etc., to structural materials such as foundations, beams, columns, walls, and slabs for building construction.
